Lauryn Thompson Participating in U17 World Cup for England
It has been a great six months for Lauryn Thompson! The U17 player from North Carolina has flown around the world to represent Indy Eleven at the domestic level and England at the international level. Lauryn, who spent three years with Indy Eleven as a youth player from 2017-2020, rejoined the club last fall and was a key piece to the 2007 ECNL team reaching the ECNL national semifinals.

As the club season concluded, Lauryn traveled to London for several national team camps, hoping to be chosen to participate in the upcoming U17 World Cup. In mid-September, the final rosters were announced with Lauryn making the group that will compete in the Dominican Republic later this month.
Club ECNL director, Joe Sochacki, knew that it was just a matter of time before Lauryn would be able to showcase her talents on the world stage. When asked about LT he responded with a big smile and alluded to her individual commitment to being a great attacking player, her infectious personality and Lauryn’s loyalty to the Indy Eleven club as well as her 2007 teammates. Those teammates are the primary reason Lauryn rejoined the club after a few years away. Her talent, drive and ability to be special on and off the field are the reason we get to watch Lauryn play in the most prestigious U17 event in the world.

Congratulations Lauryn… we look forward to supporting you from afar and cannot wait to have you back on the field in November as the senior ECNL season begins!
